culture-y shock

I've just found this article which is interesting about the differences between Japan and England. - Told from the perspective of a Japanese student living in England. It's funny to hear culture shock from the Japanese point of view!
I think I agree with the stereotype of Japan being gadget-y though, to some extent. Eg. today I was using one of my JTE's (Japanese Teacher of English)'s pen. Well, I thought it was a pen until I realised it was an electric pencil. Then I twisted it to use it again, and a black pen nib came out. Then I twisted again and a red pen nib came out- a multi-coloured pen and pencil all in one- weird! But potentially very usefull... I want one!

That is a really interesting article! It reminded me of the Dangerous Carrots!
