can you hear the people singing?
we sang Jesus lover of my soul in Church this morning- in Japanese of course.
I always like singing songs that are so familiar, but it's weird at the same time, as the English words come more naturally and it doesn't quite feel so powerful/ from the heart when I (try to) sing in Japanese. That's one of the reasons it'd be good to plough on with the language learning- as well as being able to read and sing the songs, understand them and really worship better through them. Still it was quite funny. The Japanese words didn't feel to have so much of a kick to them, but think that was just me, as it was a good worship aid. [The most enjoyable song I've sang in Japanese has to be, 'Your love is amazing', which I then taught my friends the English to- the Japanese version is very catchy... there are quite a few we often sing, although more often than not we do a mixture of Japanese and Western songs.]
Have just come back from church from a music practice actually. The last (only) time I played my flute here was on Christmas Day. Even then it was slightly odd- hours and hours of practice to play one song, after the service itself! Next week I'm playing in the intro and outro. Ie at the very start of the service and at the end, not during actual singing time. I find it a bit strange, but good to be included at the same time!
Bye for now.

I had "Shine jesus Shine" in my head after I read this post, and then tried to imagine it in Japanese... And then (more naturally) in sign language!
