wunderbar

Today's been great. So many prayers answered/ many little worries dealt with, and lots of this relating to selling my stuff & moving house.

At school on Friday, I printed out my buymeblog, to make it fit on 2 sides of B4 (a little smaller than A3). It's always good to see a lot of stuff on a side or 2 of paper. [Reminded me of revision at school, & how it's great when you can summarise a topic on one side of A4, whether it be an essay plan, brainstorm or mindmap...] Anyway, I finished it all at 16:20, a bit after my home time. Was planning on sticking it up on a staffroom blackboard/ noticeboard. But all my JTEs had disappeared/gone home early for once. And so i decided to just put it up at church first, then school on mon. ,,,,

Am glad I did, cos when it went up at church & after an announcement was made, people flocked round the poster & I had 3 people wanting to buy my microwave/ oven combi. And later sold my fridge, rice cooker, chest of drawers, cabinet & much more in the space of a few hours. Brilliant!!
Then later on, I went home and お母さん popped round. She'd altered the yukata (summer kimono) she'd brought round last week. And has basically made it VERY easy to wear. She's sewn in it a bit and added some ties and stuff - she said it's what they do for children. (I'm def like a child here!!) Great. I had a go several times, putting it on. But it's still quite tricky actually. Also won't be so easy when she's not around to tweak and alter it- it's a bit like wearing a dressing gown done up tightly, but is MUCH more complicated somehow.
Then she told me how to fold it. Not sure how much I can remember of that tho. Oh dear, hope i don't have a repeat of a few nights ago . But seeing her do it/ helping me with it made those internet instructions i posted about earlier, make a bit more sense in my mind.

So that was also brilliant.
Oh and before she did that, we discussed the リサイクルショップ recycle shop people a) coming over to give an estimate of the value of things/ saying what they'll take and b) them coming to pick thigns up for sale. Thurs 19th July is the date set for part a) . Means I have time to deal with the items currently 'under offer' etc. So fab to have it sorted. For the first time, I feel it's gonna be possible to get rid of everything in this apartment! Even tho my bedroom is now FULL of boxes half full (last week i sneaked out of school with a teacher & we went and picked up some empty cardboard boxes from the supermarket, bought some tape and brought them back to my house- shh) and there's still loads to do.

sorry this wasn't meant to become so long.
good night!
Oh and i had a very nice time at church today with a Balinese woman and her Japanese husband who recently started coming. And at the worship team meeting, I asked if we could possibly have furigana (an easy way to read the difficult kanji characters) on the powerpoint for worship songs, and they're onto it. Great! soon i won't have to fumble through the words i can't read when singing songs at church. (Will also help the kids who are still mastering reading and writing the language, and other random foreigners who sometimes turn up!) Excellent stuff.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
[Not that i deserve this, but it's in Psalm 23, The Lord is my Shepherd, v6]
