in the dark

I often realise that i never have a clue what's going on at school. i don't know about students being unwell with life threatening diseases unless they're mentioned randomly in conversation. And I only realised the 2nd years and teachers are going on a school trip to Osaka and places tomorrow, when some students let me know whilst I was having a coffee in Jusco after school today! Ah dear. (But I'm glad I know now, otherwise I'd have been in for a shock as I enter the staff room tomorrow, with many empty chairs and desks.) If I understood a bit more- or actually listened to what's going on in the staffroom a bit more, I'm sure I'd have a better idea. But I miss out on a lot and would absorb much more if i was in an all English environment... Well, only 3 and a half weeks til I'll be home for Christmas! hoorah
