preparing for winter

Well I did eventually get dressed, go for a run and do other productive things today. (Cycled to Shiogama, studied some Japanese with a friend, did laundry, collected my kotatsu futon from the dry cleaners, went to a music practice at church etc.) Kotatsu futon I hear you say? Well, as I was assembling the nifty heated table, I thought I'd show you what it looks like. I'm aware lots of you readers have seen it in person (well, those of you brave enough to leave comments anyway). But for the rest of you, here goes: -
STEP ONE:
Remove lid (otherwise it's just a normal table to be used in spring and summer).

STEP TWO: Lay out the kotatsu futon-

STEP THREE: Sandwich in the blankety/ duvet thing, with the table lid on top -

Da-daa, finished. Sit on chairs on the floor, with legs under the blanket. Switch on and keep warm. Note my kerosene heater there on the left of the picture. Horrible thing. Hopefully it will keep me warm and not kill me this winter- they're not the safest of heating devices in the world.
