running roundup

well, I'm glad to have survived the 5k yesterday. The pace was much quicker than what I'm used to, so maybe i'll have to practise running faster!! The race took place on Mount Zao, near where I went earlier in the summer. In return for my entry fee, I was almost more than compensated with a free T shirt, shoe bag, programme, coupons for -energy drink, -Zao milk, -ramen (pot noodles), -an ice cream, -umen noodles, a drink on the finishing line, a certificate telling me my time [a slightly disappointing but fair 30mins54], and a lunch and onsen (shower/bath) afterwards. Not bad going (altho i think the last 2 were thanks to JET people and not for everyone tho)!
Hopefully next will be a 10k...

Wow, well done you! I like the compensation bit too. Had exciting email about Russia this morning. Will let you know the latest soon - I asked loads of questions and am now waiting for a reply.
Love Beth

crazy girl!! Who were you running for? Or why is probably the better question! I'm supposed to be doing 10k in a few weeks with Phil, but as he has just been diagnosed with patella tendonitis, I'm shattered etc, we won't be able to :(
Glad to see you're still as crazy as ever.... Parcel on it's way! xx
