Why walk when you can run?

In the staffroom, teachers generally don't walk, but run. They run if they're late for a class and run down the corridor to do this and that, or run to the photocopier/ filing cabinet. It definitely puts you on edge a bit. They're great at creating the illusion that they're busy. Well maybe they are actually working. But I'm definitely not. And yet now I find myself sitting at my desk for hours with nothing to do, but then occasionally running to the photocopier to make worksheets, or running to the loo because it's cold out in the corridor. Maybe some things are just a bit contagious.
