brilliant

in a lesson last week, after i'd taught students the word steal, Saito Sensei lurches into a tangent, explaining to me that students are familiar with the word because it's a term used in baseball. He went on to describe (very vaguely) when it was used. So perplexed, I asked him what it meant, wondering if it indeed had any correlation with the English original word. Thankfully before he could answer (a puzzled look had come across his face), a student said 授業 jyugyou - 'lesson' and we could go back to the point...
